Diabetes MellitusDiabetes mellitus type II is a so called "disease of the affluent”. In some countries we have a diagnosed number of 5 – 10 % diabetics, and epidemologists assume a similar percentage of unknown cases.
In this disease pattern, the pancreas generate more insulin which is ineffective in lowering blood sugar levels. This disfunction is mostly accompanied by weight increase around the abdomen, high blood pressure and metabolic changes [Metabolic Syndrome]. Additionally, bad eating habits, distress and a lack of exercise are important risk factors.
Our therapy centers around Therapeutic Fasting, which distinctly lowers the blood sugar and reestablishes the effectiveness of the insulin production. Normalization of weight, change of eating habits, exercise and relaxation are further preventive and therapeutic measures. They especially help to prevent certain after effects [increasing kidney failure, loss of eye sight, diabetic foot and vascular diseases].
