Metromeeting Stuttgart
180 guests flocked to the Phoenixhalle at the RoemerkastellWe were expecting around 80 to 100 guests at our Metromeeting in Stuttgart, similar to the number at our meeting last year in Zurich – after all, both Zurich and Stuttgart are "suburbs" of Überlingen, so to speak. But over 180 guests registered so that we had to relocate at the last minute from the Römerkastell to the Phoenixhalle, where Stephan Mappus, Baden-Wurttemberg’s premier, had greeted the employers' association the evening before. What a feeling of space! What a huge canvas on which to show our visitors impressions of Buchinger. We were overwhelmed!
Continuity in the 3rd generationThe valiant Swabians did not let the heat and rain stop them from getting to know the entire Buchinger management crew from Überlingen and Marbella – the Wilhelmis from Überlingen and the Rohrers from Marbella. Our intention was to demonstrate continuity after Maria Buchinger left us. From now on, the third Buchinger generation is your host on Lake Constance and the Costa del Sol!
After a welcome cocktail and an amuse bouche, accompanied by Paul Amrod on piano, the guests moved into the large Phoenixhalle. Raimund Wilhelmi kicked off the evening with news from Überlingen – new buildings, a new pool with access from the warm indoors, a new fitness hall – as well as lots of new faces and treatments. Our guests from Stuttgart have no problem seeing it for themselves: in just over an hour they can drive south to the hill in the west of Überlingen with views of the lake!
Fasting is naturalDr. Françoise Wilhelmi de Toledo, physician and author, then showed us that fasting is natural - both for people and animals - and what a huge therapeutic potential it has – for the body and soul! She also reported that fasting is experiencing a renaissance in the religious and spiritual sphere, but that often the physiological and medical know-how is lacking, which can, and regularly does, result in health complications - for example during Ramadan at the moment.
Accompanied by music, Jutta Rohrer from Marbella invited the guests to experience fasting in the south under the Spanish sun. The clinic in Marbella offers all Buchinger's rules and treatments with the same high quality. Director Claus Rohrer and his co-director Jutta Rohrer, granddaughter of Dr. Otto Buchinger, can vouch for this.
The lectures were supplemented with music by Paul Amrod. He is well-known in the region of Lake Constance for his jazz interpretations of pop songs from the '60s (Beatles, Stones, Kinks).
Culinary delights of the Buchinger Kitchen
Finally, the guests were treated with culinary delights from Hubert Hohler and his team, including apple juice, wine and mineral water from Lake Constance. Even the service team came from Überlingen, as did the charming organizers, who handed out name plates and leaving presents to everyone: home-made crème of red lentils and home-baked wholemeal grissini – hmmmmmm! As always at Metromeetings, the atmosphere was relaxed and lively and plenty of questions were asked. Of course it was a pleasure to see so many of you came with your friends and family. The last guests left at midnight.
All that is left for us at Buchinger to say is: Thank you Stuttgart! We were truly overwhelmed by the response! We'll be back! |
