The programme with Professor Günter Jena in 2008Günter Jena [born in Leipzig] studied music and psychology in Berlin, organ and directing in Munich from Karl Richter. 1961 - 1973 he led a choir and was organist in Würzburg. 1974 - 1988 at the St. Michael's church in Hamburg where he developed a "high level Bach culture". He directed all great oratorios of the music literature. In his concerts "music and poetry" he worked with we l l known German actors [i. e. Heinz Rühmann, Gert Westphal, Will Quadflieg], and as a director of "spiritual ballets" often with the choreographer John Neumeier. “Jena Lecture Week”18 to 24 August With Prof. Günter Jena, Dr. Susanne Jena, Dr. Stefan Jena and Matthias Jena.
