The Buchinger Family
Dr. Otto Buchinger’s daughter Maria, with her husband Helmut Wilhelmi, founded a new clinic in Überlingen at Lake Constance in 1953. Dr. Otto Buchinger was involved in this initiative as chief medical doctor and spent his last years here at Buchinger Bodensee.
In 1973 Helmut Wilhelmi and Maria Buchinger founded the Clinica Buchinger in Marbella, Spain. After the passing away of Helmut Wilhelmi in 1985, his son Raimund and his wife, Dr. Francoise de Toledo – Wilhelmi, a doctor from Geneva, took over the management of Buchinger Bodensee. They have two sons, born in 1986 and 1987. Maike Wilhelmi, the daughter of Helmut Wilhelmi and Maria Buchinger, is the coordinator of our guest relations programme.
Maria Buchinger, the grande dame of both clinics, celebrated her ninetieth birthday in 2006. She has been a resident in Marbella since 1973, and still regularly welcomes her guests there and participates in the yoga sessions. In 2004 she was the first woman to be honoured as “Businessperson of the Year” at the Costa del Sol in Spain. A rare achievement of which we are all proud!
The management of the Clinica Buchinger Marbella has been taken over by the grandchild of Dr. Otto Buchinger, Jutta, and her husband Claus Rohrer. They have two daughters, born in 1981 and 1987, and a son born in 1990. |
