In the last fifteen years Buchinger has compiled an impressive collection of modern and contemporary works of art. Most conspicuous in this collection is the 12m x 20m painting by Lothar Baumgarten entitled “The Big Lawn” in the Villa Belgrano. Works by Marie-Jo Lafontaine and Günther Mack greet our guests in the entrance lobby on arrival. “Group Zero” is prominently represented by Mack, Uecker and Piene, possibly because Günter Uecker often came to Buchinger in order to regenerate; all in line with his personal dictum “Fasting for me is a journey on a road from exhaustion to creative inspiration”. Additionally, you will find works by Imi Knoebel, Max Bill, Anton Stankovski, Max Ackermann, Antonio Calderara, Günter Forg, Thomas Ruff and Rupprecht Geiger. Buchinger’s holistic healing concept is firmly rooted in the belief that the “regenerating atmosphere” of music and visual art and the close supervision by highly trained therapeutic professionals are complementary.
